Harvard University is offering a free 5-week online course on Statistics and R for the Life Sciences on the edX platform. A backround in basic math and programming is needed to follow the course as the course would show computer code for simulations that illustrate the main ideas of exploratory data analysis and statistical inference (p-values, confidence intervals and power calculations for example).

The course would have 3 types of learning modules that consists of lectures, screen-casts and assessments.
